…all good things

So today was a bit of a bittersweet day for our family. Today we said goodbye to our daughters day care. This was actually a big reason we have decided to have me be a stay at home dad. After more years than I can count, they have had to close their doors due to lack of funding. I’m sure it was more detailed and political than that, but that’s well above my pay grade.

It was sad for more than just the fact that “L” won’t be going there any more. It was also the fist place my wife worked as a teacher. It was her first actual class room, and not just a sub when someone was sick. She has since moved on from teaching, but she has stayed friends with most of the staff there. Which is a testament to how great a place it is.

And then of course, there is the fact that in the short time “L” has been there, she has become an entirely different kid. She has learned more than I ever thought any 2 year old should know. I am so proud of how much she has grown since going there. We will miss the staff and the loving atmosphere, no doubt about it. The plus side is, at least we know we have plenary of people willing to babysit for us if we ever want a date night!

But as they say, “…all good things, must come to an end.”
